Ah, the last of the normal Fridays. Next weekend, we transition into championship season, with the trophies and the four judges per event and all that. But for now, another chance to get a score.

All nine SEC teams are in action tonight with (*whispers*) nothing immediate to gain from anything that happens because the conference championship sessions are already set, with Oklahoma, LSU, Florida, and Alabama getting into the coveted post-Happy-Hour, no-bye-rotation night session.

The teams really fighting for something today are Ball State, Rutgers, Washington, Penn, and maybe Towson and Boise State. They’re right on the cusp of regionals qualification and could use a 196. Like, immediately. Penn, Towson, and Ball State are up first before the name brands begin, so I want to start by keeping an eye on the scores for those teams.

Getting started, Brie Clark nearly stuck a Tsuk full leading off vault for Clemson but then it was too good so she had to step back.

Ava Molina led off bars for Ball State with a Van Leeuwen and stuck DLO, so feels like they’re aware of the 196 assignment. McMahon followed her with very good toe point in handstand positions but a pretty large bounce back on double tuck.

The NC State/WVU broadcast is spending a lot of time on the stick plunger hat, which is correct.

Clemson has a case of the .100 steps on vault, but they’re still getting usable 9.8s.
