USA Gymnastics announced Saturday the five-man team that will represent the nation at the 2026 Pan American Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

Following a selection competition during national team camp at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, Taylor Burkhart, Patrick “Patty” Hoopes, Riley Loos, Yul Moldauer, and Kameron Nelson were named to the team.

You can rewatch the full selection competition via the USA Gymnastics Instagram.

The U.S. women’s team will be selected at their next national team camp, set for May 15-18.

When are the 2026 Pan American Artistic Gymnastics Championships?

The Pan American Championships are the continental championships for the Americas. This year, the meet is also a qualifier for the world championships. The meet will take place June 17-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Breaking down the U.S. men’s team selection

Per the selection procedures, the team was named via a one-day competition at the U.S. men’s April/May national team camp. The method used to select the team was the top scoring team scenario in a 5-4-3 competition format.

This is a well-rounded team, making the U.S. men medal favorites across the board.

Moldauer headlines this team as the top all-arounder. He made a roaring return from suspension this spring, highlighted by statement performances at Winter Cup, American Cup, and the DTB Pokal Team Challenge. The 29-year-old is no stranger to Pan Ams, owning 11 medals – eight gold – from his appearances in 2022 and 2023. Notably, he was the 2023 Pan American all-around champion.

Burkhart was focused on five events at selection camp – all but pommel horse. The 23-year-old started his Pan Am career at the junior championships in 2018. He was an alternate for the senior team that won gold in 2022 and helped the U.S. win gold last year in Panama City.

Also focusing on five events at camp was Nelson, who has made a name for himself on floor, in particular, as the triple back guy. Outside of last year’s world championships, where Nelson finished fourth on floor, this will be the 24-year-old’s biggest international assignment to date.

Loos has been competing four events this year: vault, floor, pommel horse, and rings. The 25-year-old is competing at his fourth Pan Ams after making his first appearance back in 2018. He is a five-time medalist at the championships, including silver on floor and bronze on rings in 2022.

Rounding out the team is pommel horse specialist Hoopes. The 2025 world bronze medalist on the event, Hoopes brings that high-scoring routine to the table. He has also brought parallel bars to his elite repertoire. The 23-year-old had a breakout season on the international stage last year, winning four pommel horse medals in total. Like Nelson, this will be his Pan American Championships debut.
