ROTTERDAM, Netherlands – The USA Gymnastics women’s and men’s teams return to the world stage this week in Rotterdam as they gear up for the 2026 Artistic World Championships October 17-25 at Rotterdam Ahoy arena. Team competition is on tap for the first time since 2023 in Antwerp, where the U.S. women won their seventh consecutive team gold and the men earned bronze.
Women aim for extended history
Four-time World team member and two-time champion Skye Blakely is the only women’s athlete with Worlds experience, but her teammates bring plenty of talent. 2024 Olympic gold medalist and two-time U.S. all-around champion Hezly Rivera, 2026 U.S. all-around silver and bronze medalists Claire Pease and Charleigh Bullock, and 2026 U.S. floor gold medalist and U.S. Classic all-around champion Reese Esponda are poised for strong debuts as the U.S. team gets a peek at its future in Rotterdam.
Men set to defend podium place
High hopes extend to the American men, who look to keep their place on the team podium in Rotterdam after winning a team medal in 2023 for the first time in nine years. As a member of that bronze-medal winning roster, Olympic bronze medalist and reigning U.S. all-around champion Frederick Richard will look to improve on his performance in Antwerp after also winning individual all-around bronze in 2023. Joining Richard in the podium fight are 2021 Olympian Shane Wiskus, 2025 World pommel horse bronze medalist Patrick Hoopes, three-time Junior World medalist Danila Leykin and two-time U.S. vault champion Kameron Nelson.
