INDIANAPOLIS (September 14, 2026) – USA Gymnastics on Monday announced Alayna “Lanie” Sherrick as Acrobatic Gymnastics Program and High Performance Director. Previously the USA Gymnastics Acro Program Manager, she joined the USAG staff in 2022 after more than a decade as an international-level athlete and coach.

In her new role, Sherrick will oversee the strategic development and administration of the Acrobatic Gymnastics Program, including the execution of the strategic goals, budget management, oversight of the Development and Elite Programs, administration of the National Team, grassroots development, and coordination with the volunteer committee structure.

“Lanie’s deep roots in the acrobatic discipline as an athlete, coach, team leader and administrator makes her an ideal fit for her new role,” USAG Chief Program Officer Stefanie Korepin said. “She has done great work as program manager, and we look forward to seeing the acro discipline flourish under her leadership.”

As an athlete, Sherrick competed in women’s group, and she spent nearly 10 years as the head coach of California-based ATA Gymnastics. While at ATA, she was part of three U.S. delegations for the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Age Group competitions and was a medal-winning coach. Sherrick also served as a member of USA Gymnastics’ Acrobatic Gymnastics National Elite Committee and Athlete Selection Committee from 2014-22.

The USA Gymnastics Acrobatic National Team begins competition Thursday in Pesaro, Italy, for the 2026 World Gymnastics Junior Acrobatic World Championships and World Youth Competitions.
