FRANKFURT, Germany (August 12, 2026) – Megan Chu (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) currently sits sixth all-around and Rin Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif./Buro Gymnastics) 23rd to kick off the 42nd Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Europe.

Chu competed on clubs and ribbon Wednesday and put up impressive scores to sit sixth in the all-around with a combined 56.150. She had the second-highest clubs score of the evening with a 28.350 behind Russia’s Mariia Borisova (29.050), and the third-highest ribbon score of a 27.800, also lead by Borisova (29.000).

Her teammate Keys was active on hoop and ball in Frankfurt and currently ranks 23rd all-around with a 52.800. Keys scored a 27.350 on hoop (10th) and a 25.450 on ball (15th).

The gymnasts will flip apparatus on Thursday to complete their four-event all-around standings, with the best 18 athletes from qualifying set to advance to the final. The top eight on each apparatus also will move onto each final round.

Thursday’s individual competition begins at 3 a.m. ET with Keys in Group C on clubs and ribbon at 4:30 a.m. ET followed by Chu in Group H on hoop and ball at 2:05 p.m. ET. The event website has complete information on the championship, including live scoring.
