USA Gymnastics announced Tuesday that Chicagoland’s NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, will host the 2027 U.S. Classic from July 23-24.
This will be the third time in five years that NOW Arena has hosted, following 2023 and 2025.
“With the LA28 Games on the horizon, the 2027 U.S. Classic provides an early look into who may be vying for a spot on the team for LA,” said USA Gymnastics Chief Programs Officer Stefanie Korepin. “We are excited to return to Chicagoland and welcome fans with a sneak peek at pre-Olympic action.”
The U.S. Classical is the final opportunity for gymnasts to qualify to the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, which will be held from August 12-15 at a to be announced location.
The 2027 edition of the Classic could see a strong slate of star power as Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles are expected to make their competitive returns next season. That is in addition to their Olympic gold medalist teammates Hezly Rivera and Jade Carey, who will content for the 2026 world team later this month. Then there are other expected (and unexpected) comebacks that could potentially happen at the meet, including Shilese Jones.
Reese Esponda won the 2026 U.S. Classic.
The Hopes Championships, a national-level event for female gymnasts in the 11-12 and 13-14-year-old age groups, will accompany the event.
The tentative schedule aligns with previous years; the Hopes Championships will be on Friday, July 23, followed by the junior and senior women’s sessions of the U.S. Classic on Saturday, July 24.
