INDIANAPOLIS (October 28, 2026) – Louisville, Kentucky will play host to USA Gymnastics’ 2027 Winter Cup February 27-28, marking the fifth-consecutive year the city will hold the event, USAG announced Wednesday. Day passes for the event are now on sale through Ticketmaster.

As host city of the 2028 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, Louisville will kick off the 2027 elite season and accelerate the ramp up to the Olympics. American athletes will compete at the Kentucky Exposition Center for spots on the women’s and men’s National Teams and roster positions for the 2027 American Cup March 6 in Atlanta, serving as an important step on the pathway to eventual Olympic berths.

“With so much excitement around the sport of gymnastics, Louisville is uniquely important in the journey leading up to LA28,” USA Gymnastics Chief Programs Officer Stefanie Korepin said. “The city will be both the first and last stop on the two-year path to Los Angeles, and we are very excited to return to Kentucky for a fifth season.”

Winter Cup will provide the first major competition since last week’s 2026 World Championships in Rotterdam, where U.S. athletes topped the medal tables, including a gold on men’s floor exercise by 2026 Winter Cup champion Frederick Richard and women’s team silver for the top four finishers at last year’s Winter Cup: Hezly Rivera, Charleigh Bullock, Claire Pease and Reese Esponda. Pease and Esponda also went 1-2 on floor exercise at the World Championships, and Pease added silver on vault.

The 2027 season also marks the continued return of Olympians to the elite ranks of the sport. Three-time medalist Jade Carey made her return to competition in 2026, while six-time medalist Suni Lee and three-time medalist Jordan Chiles have announced their plans to return to the elite ranks before LA28. On the men’s side, Olympic and World Championships medalist Asher Hong hopes to return to elite competition for the first time in a year.

Winter Cup ticket options for the competition include day passes and a weekend bundle, with day passes starting at $20 for Friday and $30 for Saturday, while the weekend bundle includes both days of action for $38. All tickets can be purchased online on Ticketmaster.
