RG Portimão International Tournament
Led by gold-medal performances from Isabel Borges (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) and Josephine Weber (Mission Viejo, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics), Americans won eight medals at the 2026 Portimão International Tournament in Portugal.
In senior competition, Borges won ribbon gold with a 27.000 during Sunday afternoon’s final. Isabella Chong (Woodland Hills, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles) accounted for the remaining two medals, securing ribbon silver behind Borges with a 26.100 and earning ball bronze with a 25.350. Both seniors also were active in the hoop final, where Borges finished fifth (26.500) and Chong eighth (20.700).
On the junior side, Weber won the ribbon title with a 23.150, also adding team silver (92.600) to her medal haul with partner Riko Kawai (Los Angeles, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles). Kawai also earned an individual medal over the weekend with a silver medal on ball (22.600).
Izabella Oleynik (Los Angeles, Calif./California Rhythms) picked up two junior individual medals of her own, taking silver on both hoop (24.350) and clubs (24.300). She and partner Daniela Shevchenko (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia Rhythmic Academy) finished sixth in team competition with an 86.950. Azerbaijan won the team title with a 94.000.
Senior Irina Fesyun (Aventura, Fla./IK School of Gymnastics) also saw final competition, placing seventh in the clubs final with a 25.600. In the all-around. Chong was fifth (97.650), Borges 11th (95.650), Fesyun 13th (95.000) and Olivia Ulrich (Miami, Fla./Bessonova’s School) 17th (92.950).
RG Gdynia Rhythmic Stars
In Poland, Natalie de la Rosa (Woodland Hills, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) claimed clubs bronze and posted three fourth-place finishes at the 2026 Gdynia Rhythmic Stars international tournament.
De la Rosa finished third in clubs with a 26.167 as Emilia Heichel of host-country Poland won gold on the apparatus with a 27.400. De la Rosa also was fourth in the hoop (26.450) and ribbon (25.300) finals, and was fourth all-around with a 106.900. Fellow senior Ruby Freshwater (Northridge, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) was fifth in the ribbon final with a 24.817 and was 15th all-around with a 95.750.
Juniors Nina Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) and Ziah Khan (Irvine, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) each competed in apparatus competition, with Keys finishing just off the ribbon podium in fourth (23.700). She also qualified to the hoop final, where she placed seventh (21.900), while Khan was fifth (22.500) in the ball final and eighth (19.550) on ball.
T&T Elite Challenge
USA Gymnastics’ 2026 Elite Challenge in Wichita, Kansas concluded this weekend with champions crowned across trampoline, tumbling and double mini trampoline divisions.
Thirteen National Team members won titles during the competition across all apparatus, while Kyle Schottgen and Brandon Frasure each won two gold medals in the elite divisions over the weekend.
