Jaxon Clapper of Greenville University claimed two of six apparatus championships Saturday afternoon to conclude the 2026 USA Gymnastics Men’s Collegiate Championships at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
COLORADO SPRNIGS, Colo. (March 21, 2026) – Jaxon Clapper of Greenville University claimed two of six apparatus championships Saturday afternoon to conclude the 2026 USA Gymnastics Men’s Collegiate Championships at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Clapper won parallel bars (14.150) and floor exercise (13.800) gold to lead individual performances. Sharing the parallel bars podium with the junior were U.S. Naval Academy’s Brian Solomon (13.300) and Noah Duran (13.150) of the U.S. Military Academy. On floor, Navy’s Daniel Gurevich and Jacob Soederqvist of Springfield College shared the floor silver medal with matching scores of 13.750.
Brian Rollison of Simpson College successfully defended his 2025 rings title, taking 2026 gold with a 13.700. Blaise Rousseau of Springfield College won silver (13.300) with Greenville’s Ricky Mays taking bronze (12.250). The pommel horse champion was Peyton Cramer of Springfield College (14.000), followed by Jack Matlock of Air Force in second with a 13.950 and Maddox Pabellon of Army in third with a 13.800.
Nicholas Lester of Army took the vault title (13.850) and Tai Gopaul of Air Force won horizontal bar (13.550). Rounding out the vault podium were Simpson College’s Braxton Jones in second (13.750) and Springfield teammates Mike Dalton and Evan Reichert, who shared bronze (13.700). Army took second and third on high bar, with Cash Johnston winning silver with a 13.400 followed by teammate Jaden Blank with bronze (13.350).
At the conclusion of the championships, Matthew Petros of Navy was named the 2026 Outstanding Senior Gymnast, while the U.S. Military Academy swept coaching honors as JD Reive was tapped as 2026 Coach of the Year and Carmine Giglio and Jake Bonnay were the 2026 Assistant Coaches of the Year.
