Ruben Padilla (Bluffdale, Utah/Wasatch Trampoline & Tumbling) and Aliah Raga (Denton, Md./Dynamite Gymnastics) were golden in Alkmaar in double mini for the U.S., with Padilla winning men’s gold with a 30.700 and Raga taking the women’s title with a 24.800. Joining them on the podium were West Fowler (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Panhandle Perfection Gymnastics), who won men’s silver with a 30.000, and Susan Gill (Ladera Ranch, Calif./Eagle Gymnastics Academy), who did the same for the women with a 24.000.
Padilla’s double mini gold was one of three medals he took home from the Netherlands, adding silver in men’s synchro and bronze in mixed synchro this past weekend. He and partner Elijah Vogel (Longmont, Colo./Xtreme Altitude Gymnastics) took men’s synchro silver with a 51.930 behind an Independent Athlete duo in first (54.940) and ahead of an Azerbaijani pair in third (51.060). In mixed synchro, Radilla and Maia Amano (Honolulu, Hawaii/Merino Trampoline Gymnastics Academy) won bronze medal honors with a 50.790, behind Independent Athlete (51.200) and Azerbaijan (51.090) pairs.
Also competing in final competition at the World Cup were Sarah Webster (Valley View, Texas/Trampoline and Tumbling Express) and Amano, who finished seventh (43.480) in women’s synchro, and Padilla, who also finished seventh (62.250) in the men’s individual trampoline final.
