What a Week!
This week in NCAA Gymnastics was a whirlwind, so let’s break it down!
Starting with our top 5 routines of the week.
5. Oklahoma’s Nathan Roman – Parallel Bars
This was really satisfying to watch. The releases and rhythm Nathan brings are exactly what I like to see in men’s gymnastics.
4. Oregon’s Sophia Esposito – Beam
Calm. Cool. and Collected.
3. Stanford’s Khoi Young – Pommel Horse
I am so excited to see Khoi back in action! He made his return to competition this past weekend at the Stanford International Collegiate against California. And honestly, it looked like he never left. Khoi won the event with a 14.450, showing he’s right back where he belongs.
2. Auburn’s Paige Zancan – Vault
I love a unique vault, and Paige’s flawless execution is just the cherry on top!
1. Stanford’s Anna Roberts – Vault (10.0)
The first 10.0 in the ACC. Seriously… What can’t this girl do?
Breaking News!
Iowa State has officially decided to discontinue its gymnastics program.
After the Cyclones suspended their season mid-year, many fans were wondering what the final outcome would be — and unfortunately, this wasn’t the one anyone was hoping for.
Georgia’s Lily Smith Injured
We were so sad to see Georgia’s Lily Smith unable to compete against Kentucky this past weekend. Smith was injured during warmups before the GymDogs’ win over Kentucky. She’s had a tremendous season so far, earning a 10.0 and consistently scoring 9.9+ for her team on floor. We’re wishing Lily a speedy recovery!
